Array - 34. Find First and Last Position of Element in Sorted Array
34.Find First and Last Position of Element in Sorted Array
Given an array of integers nums
sorted in ascending order, find the starting and ending position of a given target
value.
Your algorithm's runtime complexity must be in the order of O(log n).
If the target is not found in the array, return [-1, -1]
.
Example 1:
Input: nums = [5,7,7,8,8,10], target = 8
Output: [3,4]
Example 2:
Input: nums = [5,7,7,8,8,10], target = 6
Output: [-1,-1]
go:
func searchRange(nums []int, target int) []int {
var res = []int{-1, -1}
if nums == nil || len(nums) == 0 {
return res
}
// find left
low, high := 0, len(nums) - 1
for ; low + 1 < high; {
mid := low + (high - low)/2
if nums[mid] < target {
low = mid
} else {
high = mid
}
}
if nums[low] == target {
res[0] = low
} else if nums[high] == target {
res[0] = high
}
if res[0] == -1 {
return res
}
// find right
low, high = 0, len(nums) - 1
for ; low + 1 < high; {
mid := low + (high - low)/2
if nums[mid] <= target {
low = mid
} else {
high = mid
}
}
if nums[high] == target {
res[1] = high
} else if nums[low] == target {
res[1] = low
}
return res
}
