96. Unique Binary Search Trees

Given n, how many structurally unique BST's (binary search trees) that store values 1 ... n?

Example:

Input: 3
Output: 5
Explanation: Given _n_ = 3, there are a total of 5 unique BST's:

   1         3     3      2      1
    \       /     /      / \      \
     3     2     1      1   3      2
    /     /       \                 \
   2     1         2                 3

思路:

给定一个整数,给出1到这个数的所有整数构成的bst的种数,分析数目会发现这个是一个卡特兰数组。可以递归也可以dp来做。

代码:

java:

class Solution {

    public int numTrees(int n) {
        int [] G = new int[n+1];
        G[0] = G[1] = 1;

        for(int i = 2; i <= n; ++i) {
            for(int j = 1; j <= i; ++j) {
                G[i] += G[j-1] * G[i-j];
            }
        }

        return G[n];
    }
}
